  TREATMENT/MAINTENANCE
If you choose an untreated floor you can treat it with a colour that goes best with its intended location. You should also bear in mind how much it will be used. If you choose the most common method of treatment – lye and oil – there are a number of floor oils that will help you get the shade you require.

The lye will allow the wood to keep a lighter shade and will open the pores in the wood so the oil penetrates more easily. The oil emphasises the wood’s warm and natural appearance. The floor can also be treated with lye and soap, which creates an attractive lustre like an old-fashioned scrubbed floor.

Baseco Classic
After it has been installed, the floor should be wiped with a damp cloth the first time using a 1:5 mix of wood-floor soap and water. Use white soap for white-oiled floors and natural soap for floors treated with natural oil. For cleaning use a well wrung cloth. With rooms subjected to heavy wear it is a good idea to give the floor the extra protection of maintenance oil before it is used.

Baseco Trend
The floor is ready to use after installation. Wood-floor soap and water should be used for mopping. Clean using a well wrung cloth.

Baseco Antique

The floor is ready to use after installation. Wood-floor soap and water should be used for mopping. Clean using a well wrung cloth.

Baseco untreated
Baseco’s untreated wooden floor should be treated on site after installation. If you choose the most common method of treatment – lye and oil – there are a number of floor oils that will help you get the shade you require. Ask your retailer of floor treatment products for tips and advice.

Periodic maintenance – long-term maintenance
Adjust periodic maintenance to how much wear the floor experiences and to how it is cared for. Baseco Classic should be treated with floor oil while Trend and Antique should be treated with varnish refresher available from paint, floor and building material shops.
